Florentino is the Melbourne hub of cucina Italiana. It’s an institution, recognised for close to a century as one of the city’s finest Italian restaurants. In 2025, these venues (including Cellar Bar and Ombra) were purchased by Edition Hospitality owner Rebecca Yazbek.
Cafe Florentino, most recently know as Grossi Grill, offers a relaxed alternative to the formality of its older sister’s dining rooms. The focus here is woodfired cooking suited to family dinners, business lunches, or pre- and post-theatre dining.
Mains are made up of excellent local produce and span a range of proteins – think steaks, fish and lamb served with a rotation of sauce options that changes with the seasons. There is also an affordable prix-fixe menu that's a great idea if you’re pressed for time or – usually the case here – spoilt for choice. Be sure to complete your meal with an affogato.
